docker wait command will block one or multiple containers until it is stopped. Once the container is stopped it will retun 0 meaning that the container is stopped.
docker run --name akilan_container -d nginx
docker wait akilan_container
//opening a new instance and stopping it there
docker stop akilan_container
//The exit code will be returned below the wait instance
